Our mission is to bring the rigor of geomechanics to your subsurface characterisation and modeling.
IGEOSS provides energy industries, universities and research institutes with consulting services, geomechanical methods and tools to improve 3D geological structure interpretations and to model natural fractures and faults that cannot be detected with conventional geophysical techniques. These tasks are integral to understanding, and being predictive about structurally complex reservoirs.
Background
The energy industries are in search of powerful tools
to characterize fractured reservoirs located in structurally
complex areas in order to optimize productivity and
minimize the cost of exploitation.
To address this need, the Stanford Rock Fracture Project (RFP), a research consortium co-directed by Professor David D. Pollard and sponsored by Oil & Gas companies around the world, was created in 1989. The development of innovative tools, Poly3D, Dynel2D and Dynel3D, through the RFP was so compelling that the sponsoring companies recommended the creation of a new company to create commercial versions of these tools.
IGEOSS became a reality in 2004.
